The impact of scar tissue is often massively underestimated. Most people focus on the appearance of a scar, but a scar can affect any area of the body, creating areas that feel tight and "stuck". Scar massage treatment improves the look, feel and functionality of the scar and surrounding tissues. By loosening restricted and "stuck" tissues movement is increased, pain is reduced and healing is improved.
The consequences of a scar runs deep and is SO MUCH MORE than just the appearance on the skin. Scar massage therapy is a specialist hands-on treatment to help reconnect and promote healing of the scar, surrounding tissues and the WHOLE body. It is a very gentle but effective form of treatment, similar to massage and soft tissue therapy. I have extensive training and use a variety of techniques directly on and around the scar.... and also further afield. Treatment is rarely painful, even for new and the most sensitive scars. Both new and old scars will 100% benefit from this treatment.
I work with a variety of scars but my passion and majority of my experience is with abdominal, female centric surgeries, such as c-sections, hysterectomy, breast cancer reconstructions and other gynaecological/pelvic surgeries that involve an abdominal incision. Surgeries such as these can leave some women in a lot of pain or discomfort, feeling numb and disconnected from their pelvic floor and core muscles and scar therapy can help improve feeling and functionality.
Depending on your scar and associated symptoms, multiple treatments may be needed in order to gain the most benefit. You should anticipate at least 3 or 4 treatments, but you may require more or less than this. Scars usually appear softer, flatter, better integrated and less bothersome.
Scar therapy is a very gentle, specialist scar massage treatment that is given on and around the scar. It is pain free and beneficial to both new and old scars. The techniques may appear effortless and small but treatment can create whole body shifts where continuing patterns of dysfunction caused by the scar are released. Nearly all types of scars can be treated, no matter how old and it doesn't matter if your scar is a result of a surgical procedure (planned or unplanned) or an accident/injury.
